My Day at FSL

“As part of my school work experience I was able to organise a day at the company where my uncle works – FSL.  He is one of their .NET developers that produces their investment tax solution called CGiX.

I discovered that the skills required by the developers are not just different coding languages but also financial knowledge and good communication skills.  All the developers at FSL have many years of software development experience.  I was most surprised about how much freedom everyone had to choose the tasks they do.

I also spent a little time with the other teams and learnt about how they service customers, do research on competitors and the day to day running of the office.

Everyone was pretty relaxed and always communicating with other teams to work more efficiently.  It was really interesting to see how closely all the teams worked together.”
