Data
The information contained within our securities taxation data service is imperative for the accurate calculation of CGT positions, and is a pre-requisite for precise real-time front office CGT modelling.
CGT Rationale
The data service is integrated into the CGiX solution, and is distinctly different to the standard corporate action information processed by back office Investment Management Systems. Whereas standard data provides you with the terms of corporate actions, the CGiX data is specifically configured to provide our clients with all the tax classifications, interpretations and factors needed to correctly calculate CGT, based on rules such as the small capital distribution (this refers to the 5% and £3000 rules which determine whether your disposal is to be treated as a disposal or capital reduction).
CGiX contains all the 1965 and 1982 re-base prices and adjusts these costs automatically for corporate events that occur after these dates. Our corporate event transaction types cover over eighty CGT specific definitions of corporate events, which ensure the seamless integration of CGiX with all back office solutions. Our service ensures that all clients receive the most comprehensive database in the UK for calculating accurate Capital Gains Tax positions.
We are currently creating a global corporate event service and have recently expanded our database to take foreign feeds from 108 exchanges worldwide.
Without CGiX data, investment managers risk the integrity of the CGT reports they supply their clients
